This is the Protoss Vanguard. The Vanguards are female Protoss warriors stemming mostly from Dark Templar tribes. The need for more warriors in the face of the Zerg swarm ultimately forces the Protoss military to recruit females into their ranks. Thus, the Vanguard Corps. was born.

as for allowing females into the military: deffinitely yes

but doing that, but not allowing them to pull front combat duty (like the US seem to do) is worse then not letting them in, as this seems to say:

yeah you can serve - we need you for the office and paperwork!
