I made a head for my new character. She's textured with mental ray's SSS (Sub-Surface Scattering) Skin Shader with some texture work in Photoshop and rendered in different lighting conditions. And I have to say I'm very pleased with the results :)

Looks great...
Did u paint all the texture? Like Epidermal, Subdermal and Backscatter, or u just put it into overall color???

Nice! Nice. Very realistic but I cannot deny that the skin looks a little like wax. I know it is the SSS that gives it that look.:)

There are 3 renders and each render took 6 mins to finish. So it took 18 mins in all :)
